About Terre des Hommes Netherlands

The mission of Terre des Hommes Netherlands is to ensure that the rights of vulnerable children and their families are respected, so that these children can properly develop their potential in a safe environment.

Terre des Hommes Netherlands prevents children from being exploited, removes children from exploitative situations and ensures these children can develop themselves in a safe environment.

Terre des Hommes Netherlands programmes

Terre des Hommes Netherlands supports local organisations through four strategic goals and subprogrammes namely stop child exploitation, education, maternal and child health care and socioeconomic development.

Additionally, the programme focuses on capacity building of local partner organisations and on strengthening civil societies in the target countries.

Intervention strategies are direct assistance, capacity development and lobby and advocacy.

The programme is an integrated part of the strategic plan for Terre des Hommes Netherlands in East Africa.

The call for proposals

Terre des Hommes Netherlands is looking for organisations locally registered in Kenya as CBOs, FBOs and National NGOs with at least 3 years experience in child focused projects and programmes in MACHAKOS, NYANZA (KISUMU AND SIAYA COUNTIES) AND TURKANA COUNTY.

Focus is on supporting projects and programmes in the above mentioned areas.

Partnerships between organisations in delivering objectives in any of these four areas would be an added advantage.

Applications should be made for a maximum of €35,000 for one year.

All proposals should include context and problem analysis, organisational background, project content (to include a logical framework matrix), sustainability and exit strategy and a detailed budget.

Applications should be received by 8th June 2012.
