Training Centres
For peer education programmes to be effective, training of the peer educators is essential – including follow-up sessions that reinforce knowledge, beliefs, and skills. This holds true for the Y2Y programme, which has recognised the need for specialised training to design and implement high-quality sustainable projects and programmes in adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
Y2Y is thus complemented by the efforts of two Training Centres in Uganda and Ethiopia, which contribute to intensifying, streamlining and establishing quality control of the programme. Alongside playing a key role for the Y2Y programme, the Training Centres are central to building the capacity of a wide range of other organisations in the field of adolescent sexual and reproductive health in East Africa.
At the moment DSW is building a third Training Centre in Tanzania.
In the following pages you will find more information about DSW's Training Centr
